New Classes 

Setting Up Your New Computer
In this hands-on class, you will learn how to set up your new computer to enhance your work environment. Learn how to create icons and folders on the desktop, use display properties, put files where you need them, understand drives, folders and files, set up and install new programs, remove programs you do not want, use Windows Help, and much more. Prerequisites: Computer Kindergarten and Computer 1st Grade; basic computer skills.

Introduction to Computers
For the computer novice, this class will get you started. Learn the basics right from the beginning: turning the computer on, the desktop, using the mouse, opening and closing programs, understanding windows elements, getting out of trouble, and turning the computer off. In the optional second session, learn how to work with text and basic word processing skills. Prerequisites: None

Create Photo Greeting Cards
In this hands-on and demonstration class, learn how to copy a photo from your digital camera to your computer, edit the photo using an image editing program, create a greeting card using your photo, specialty fonts, graphics, word art and more. You will also learn how to create an account with an online card store and order Holiday Cards online. Prerequisites: For intermediate computer users.

Post Your Pictures Online
Share your pictures online with your family and friends! In this hands-on class, learn how to copy a photo from your digital camera to your computer, edit the photo using an image editing program, post it on an online picture site such as Flickr or Shutterfly, and send invitations to view your pictures. You will also learn how to create an account with an online photo sharing site. Prerequisites: For intermediate computer users. Note: A strong wifi signal in the conference room is mandatory.

Teach Yourself to Play Piano
You’ve always wanted to learn how to play the piano, and now, with the help of your computer, you can teach yourself to play at your own pace. In this lecture and demo class, you will learn all about computer programs that teach you how to play piano. Learn how to install the software, get started, follow the lessons, and much more.
Prerequisites: For Intermediate Computer Users - must have Internet and mouse experience.

Introduction to Dreamweaver
Create your own website and share your information, thoughts, opinions and photos with the whole world. In this class, you will be introduced to the workings of Web sites and how to make your own Web pages. Layout text, add images and link to your favorite sites, even let your visitors email you. For intermediate and advanced computer users. Intermediate and Advanced classes are available.

From the most commonly asked questions we receive in class and by email, we’ve compiled three new classes: Word 03/07 - Setting Margins, Using Tabs and Indents, Columns, Autocorrect, Keyboard Shortcuts, Adding to the Dictionary, and more. Excel 03/07 - Quick Select, Autofill, Sorting, Zoom Percentage, Using Functions and more. PowerPoint 03/07 - Printing Handouts and Notes, Navigating during the Presentation, Adding Annotations, Quick Select, and more. Prerequisite: general knowledge of the programs.

eBooks Online
In this class, you will learn how to download eBooks from the library’s website to your computer and reader. Learn how to access the collection of eBooks, create a username and password, maneuver around the website, find what you’re looking for, download eBooks and more. Device compatibility and shopping tips will be included. Prerequisites: For intermediate and advanced computer users. Can be combined with our AudioBooks Online class.
